This weekend I watched Life of Brian with a friend at my place. The movie is as old as I am and when it was released back then, this comedy was banned in several countries due to its content. It seems though that most countries but Singapore have unbanned it by now.

It has been a while since I have been watching movies and currently I feel like organizing some more movie nights...

Today Reporters sans frontières (Reporters Without Borders - Reporteros sin fronteras) is announcing a 24hrs online protest against internet censorship and plans to "organise activities every 12 March to condemn cyber-censorship throughout the world".

There are 9 countries where you can participate in the online protest: Burma, China, Cuba, Egypt, Eritrea, North Korea, Tunisia, Turkmenistan and Vietnam. They are also listed as "Internet Enemies" together with Belarus, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Uzbekistan and Zimbabwe.

Additionally there is a list of 11 "countries under watch": Bahrain, Eritrea, Gambia, Jordan, Libya, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates and Yemen where laws or measures exist that could silence independant thinkers that voice their opinions on the internet.
